Cambridge Shooting: One Died, Two Injured; Heavy Police Presence

A major police response unfolded Monday afternoon in Cambridge following an officer-involved shooting near 800 Memorial Drive that left a suspect dead and at least two people suffering gunshot wounds.

According to preliminary reports from law enforcement agencies, officers responded to the area near the Mobile Gas Station after reports of shots fired and information connected to a BOLO involving an armed man allegedly carrying an AR-style rifle.

Authorities say the confrontation escalated into a police-involved shooting near Memorial Drive. Witnesses described hearing multiple gunshots before a heavy police presence flooded the area.

Officials confirmed that the suspect was shot during the incident and was pronounced dead at the scene.
